Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to distribute one kilogram of ragi at Rs 1 per card holder.
This was decided at the Odisha Millet Mission meeting presided over by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi at the State Secretariat here on Monday.
“Around 17,500 quintal of ragi will be distributed to the card holders. The future of the programme will depend on the acceptability of the people and impact of the pilot,” Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Sourabh Garg told mediapersons after the meeting.
It was also decided to procure around one lakh quintal of ragi from the farmers in the coming kharif season at the minimum support price of Rs 2897 per quintal.
