Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to resume ‘Rahagiri’, a cityfest in Odisha capital, from last Sunday of December.
Speaking to media persons, Bhubaneswar mayor Sulochana Das said the BMC took the decision at a meeting on Monday.
As per the decision, Rahagiri will be organised in three different zones of the BMC. Besides the last Sunday of December, the event will be held on first two Sundays of Januray, 2024, she said.
She further said a committee comprising two corporators from each zone, ZDC and additional commissioner of BMC has been constituted for organising the road fest. The committee will decide the events, guests, participants and timing of the Rahagiri.
On other decisions taken at BMC meeting, the mayor said the contractor, who was assigned the repair work of drain in Ward 7, has been issued a show-cause notice for the delay in completing the job. If he fails to submit the reply, he will be blacklisted, she added.
Construction of offices in the Wards, development of cremation grounds at 5 places and opening of a special cell for hearing the complaints about Jaga Mission were other decisions taken at the meeting, the mayor said.
