Balangir: The newly-laid broad gauge rail line of around 10.65km between Bichhupali and Jhartarbha of Khurda Road-Balangir rail line project was commissioned on Saturday
According to sources, Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS) had given its content after inspecting the new rail line on November 10 and declared the 289km Khurda Road-Balangir rail line project as fit for commissioning.
Altogether, 115.65km-long rail line work of the total project has been commissioned.
The East Coast Railway (ECoR) is constructing the line from both sides – from Khurda Road and Balangir for early completion of the project. “The ECoR is committed to the development of Railway infrastructure in the region and working dedicatedly to complete the project before the target,” a senior railway official said.
