Bhubaneswar: The restoration work on the flooded railway tracks between Parapatnam and Paralakhemundi in Odisha’s Gajapati has begun.
The tracks were damaged with rainwater flooding the area following the severe cyclonic storm Titli.
According to East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources, the approach roads to the site were cut-off because of mud and slush. Railway teams managed to access the area on Wednesday afternoon, after much difficulty.
While most other affected areas have been restored, this stretch of track is being repaired, the sources added.
The ECoR has set a stiff target of October 22 for finishing all works for resumption of train services in Naupada-Gunupur section.
