Rayagada: A man was found dead in Gunupur area of Odisha’s Rayagada district with his family alleging that he was murdered for failing to pay outstanding money to some unknown people.
The deceased, identified as Ashok Kumar Barada, was reportedly working as a water supplier in the railway station at Gunupur.
Ashok’s son Lokesh Barada told the media that his father had called him on Saturday evening and informed that he had taken Rs 35,000 loan from someone. He asked him to reach Kashinagar with the cash.
However, after around 30 minutes he was asked to reach Gunupur railway station.
His son alleged that when he reached Gunupur station, he was informed that his father had been sent to Gunupur hospital. On reaching the hospital, he found that his father had died. He alleged that his father was murdered for being unable to pay the money.
On being informed, the Gunupur police have launched an investigation into the incident. Three people have been detained for interrogation and probe is underway.
