Puri: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday directed the Railway officials to construct a foot over bridge (FOB) with Ramp facility at Birapratappur village near Chandanpur in Odisha’s Puri district.
During a visit of Vaishnaw to the village with Railway officials, the villagers drew the attention of the minister to the problems faced by them due to the train tracks going through the village.
They pointed out that as the village was divided by train tracks, the Lower and Upper Primary school students were facing a lot of difficulties. The day-to-day activities of the villagers were being hampered as they had to cross the railway lines.
During festivals also, the villagers face difficulties, they said adding that during Rath Yatra, they have to pull the chariot of the village temple across the railway lines.
Following the villagers’ complaint, Vaishnaw discussed the matter with Railway officials on spot and advised them to construct a Foot Over Bridge (FOB) with ramp facilities for the benefit of the villagers.
