Bhubaneswar: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday flagged off the Puri-Hatia-Puri Tapaswini Express with LHB coaches from Bhubaneswar railway station.
The Indian Railways has refurbished the Tapaswini Express with modern Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) coaches by replacing conventional coaches to provide secured and comfortable journey to the passengers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union minister said no railway project would be delayed due to fund constraints and directed the officials to speed up the works to complete the ongoing projects at the earliest.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi and Jatni MLA Suresh Kumar Routray were present on the occasion at Bhubaneswar railway station.
Vaishnaw will lay the foundation for development of the second entry of Cuttack railway station on Friday. He will also inspect the railway station and review the development and amenities there.
Later, he will flag off first MEMU passenger train from Balasore to Bhubaneswar at Balasore railway station and lay the foundation stone for development of train line from Balasore to Nilgiri.
He will also inaugurate the development works at Basta and lay the foundation stone of new station building at Jaleswar.
