New Delhi: Northern Railway has announced that it will refund tickets of passengers who missed their trains on Tuesday due to the farmers’ tractor rally in the Capital.
“Passengers are requested to apply for full refund of all trains departing from all stations of Delhi area up to (9 pm) on January 26 through TDR & e-TDR for e-tickets,” Northern Railway CPRO said.
The farmers’ agitation on Republic Day turned violent after some of them took a different route for the tractor rally from the one approved by Delhi Police.
Traffic was affected as some of the protesters looked to enter central Delhi and the police tried to stop them.
There were clashes at several places as thousands of farmers broke police barricades and vandalised the vehicles. A group of farmers even stormed the Red Fort and hoisted their flag.
