Bhubaneswar: A spell of rainfall brought relief from hot and humid condition for people of Odisha capital on Saturday night.
As per the forecast by regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in the evening, rain/thunderstorm accompanied with lightning started in Bhubaneswar at around 8.30 pm.
The city also witnessed gusty wind blowing at a speed reaching 30-40 km per hour. Following the sandy storm, it started raining, bringing down the temperature. However, there was no report of any damage during the thunderstorm.
The IMD, in its nowcast warning, also stated that besides Bhubaneswar, Cuttack (including city), Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada will have thunderstorm on Saturday night.
Earlier, the Met office had issued heat wave and thunderstorm warning for several districts for next five days.
