Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said rain coupled with thunderstorm and lightning is likely to lash at least 14 districts of Odisha, including state capital Bhubaneswar and Cuttack city, for three hours on Thursday evening.
The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar also issued a yellow warning. Thunderstorm with lightning and rain may affect Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Khurda, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Ganjam, Jharsuguda, Rayagada, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Nuapada, Nayagarh, Gajapati and Jharsuguda within next three hours, it said in a message at 4.15 pm.
People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar and its adjoining areas were lashed by rain and thunderstorm in the evening, bringing respite from heat conditions.
