Bhubaneswar: With a cycclonic storm brewing in north Andaman Sea and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal, the Bhubaneswar Meteorolocial centre here on Monday forecast light to moderate rain in some parts of 12 districts of Odisha in the next three hours.
Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul and Cuttack are likely to experience rain till 7.30 pm.
Notably, the deep depression is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm during the next 12 hours. It would continue to move nearly northwards along and off Andaman islands towards Myanmar during the next 48 hrs and cross its coast around Thandwe at 12 am on March 23, the IMD had earlier said in its midday bulletin.
However, the current system will have no direct impact on Odisha.
