Bhubaneswar: Even as heavy rain lashed the Odisha capital on Wednesday afternoon, the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that a similar weather condition would prevail in the city till 6 pm.
Light to moderate thundershower is likely in some parts of 22 districts of the state, the Met office said.
The districts are Puri, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Jagatsingpur, Nayagarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Koraput and Malkangiri.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
