Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued now cast warning for at least five Odisha districts till 6.30 pm on Monday.
Light to moderate rain, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to affect some parts of Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Ganjam districts.
The MeT office also forecast light to moderate rain, thunderstorm with lightning in parts of Jajpur and advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
Similar warning was also issued for several other districts including Koraput, Rayagada, Angul and Keonjhar till 5.30 pm. Some parts of these districts are likely to experience light to moderate rain, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph during the period.
Light to moderate rain, thunderstorm with lightning may also affect some parts of Dhenkanal, Balasore and Nayagarh districts by 5.30 pm.
