Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange warning for five districts of Odisha till 7 pm on Thursday.
Thunderstorm with hail, gusty wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and light to moderate rain is likely in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Rayagada in 3 hours. The MeT office has warned of damage to unsecured structures, banana trees and standing crops. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places accordingly.
Yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain has also been issued for some parts of Nuapada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Nayagarh, Khurda and Ganjam districts during this period.
