Bhubaneswar: Some place in Odisha are likely to experience hailstorm with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph on Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Thursday.
While the MeT office has issued yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning and hailstorm with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph at one or two places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada and Kandhamal, thunderstorm with lightning is also likely in remaining parts of the state.
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm may also occur at a few places in South Odisha and at one or two places in the northern districts of the state during this period.
The yellow warning continues for the subsequent 24 hours with thunderstorm and lightning at one or two places in Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh and Kandhamal. The state may also experience light to moderate rain.
While it will continue to rain for the next two days, there will be little change in the day temperature during the next 4 to 5 days, the IMD added.
