Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to receive fairly widespread rain due to strengthening of the southwesterly wind from the Arabian Sea and day-time heating in the days to come.
According to the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) under SOA (Deemed to be University), the intensity of rainfall is likely to increase in coastal and southern Odisha districts from July 6.
Director of CEC Dr. S C Sahu attributed it to a trough from northeast to southwest along the state’s coast and a cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining coastal Odisha.
The rainfall is likely to continue till July 10 after which the monsoon intensity is expected to escalate in northern Odisha and the coastal districts till July 13, he added.
