Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital woke up to an overcast sky and soon witnessed heavy downpour, which lasted for about 30 minutes, followed by light drizzle on Tuesday.
The clouds soon took over and it became dark by 10 am. It was raining incessantly till filing of this report.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, has forecast thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balsore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack and Nayagarh between 8.30 am to 11.30 am on Tuesday.
