Bhubaneswar: Rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning is likely to lash at least 16 districts of Odisha on Wednesday afternoon, the India Meteorological department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
The weather agency also sounded yellow alert while issuing the nowcast warning at 1.50 pm.
It said light to moderate rain, thunderstorm and lightning may affect some parts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Khurda, Balangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput and Nabarangpur within next three hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strikes.
