Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning of light to moderate rain/thundershowers for some parts of 13 districts in Odisha, including the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 3 pm on Friday.
The districts that are likely to be affected are Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Bargarh and Sundargarh.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
According to the morning bulletin, light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall activity is likely in Odisha during the day (September 8). The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall at one or two places in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Cuttack and Dhenkanal districts.
