Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday said that a few spells of light rain/thundershower with one or two moderate spells (1-2 cm/hr) is likely to continue in Odisha’s twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack till 4.30 pm.

The weather agency has warned of poor visibility during intense rain and traffic congestion in some areas, besides waterlogging in low-lying areas.

Notably, the situation in the state capital had remained grim with Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) struggling to clear waterlogging in many low-lying areas till Tuesday evening.  Many flooded localities remained waterlogged and people had to spend a sleepless night with the swirling waters in their residential premises.

Over 500 people from different localities including Kargil Basti, Bihari Basti, Panchasakha Nagar and Rajiv Nagar werealso  kept in transit shelters and provided cooked food and other relief materials.
