Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre has forecast light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning in some parts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh and Khurda till 7 pm on Monday.
The MeT office had earlier issued heatwave warning for isolated places in Angul, Khurda, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Boudh and Sonepur districts till 8.30 am on Tuesday.
Notably, four places in Odisha recorded 40°C and above by 2.30 pm on Monday. The mercury soared to 42.6°C in Jharsuguda and Sambalpur, followed by 41.2°C at Hirakud and 40°C at Chandbali. Bhubaneswar recorded 38.6°C.
