Bhubaneswar: Parts of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities in Odisha experienced rainfall and thundersquall on Saturday evening.
The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), in a nowcast warning in the evening, forecast moderate thunderstorm with lightning in the two cities during next 2 hours.
“Gusty surface wind speed reaching 40–50 kmph and light to moderate rain are very likely to affect some parts of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack during the period,” said the IMD.
Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and hailstorm are also very likely to occur at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal,
Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kendrapara and Puri on Saturday night.
Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Dhenkanal ,Cuttack ,Jajpur, Balasore and Bhadrak, the IMD added.
