Bhubaneswar: Rain coupled with thunder and lightning is likely to lash at least 20 districts of Odisha in next three hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning on Friday.
Bhubaneswar and Kataka districts are also likely to be affected.
According to the warning issued at 10.10 am, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places over the next 3 hours in Ganjam, Kendujhar, Koraput, Gajapati, Rayagada, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Nuapada, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Sambalpur, Boudh, Baleshwar, Mayurbhanj, Nayagada, Puri, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka (including Kataka City) and Khordha (including Bhubaneswar City).
The weather agency has issued a yellow warning for these districts during the period.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather, stay indoors during lightning activity and plan their movement accordingly for safety.
