Bhubaneswar: Rain coupled with thunder and lightning is likely to lash Khordha, Kataka, Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts on Wednesday evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning. State capital Bhubaneswar and Kataka cities are also likely to be affected.
In a message issued at 3 pm, the IMD sounded a yellow warning for Khordha (including Bhubaneswar city), Kataka (including Kataka city) Jagatsinghpur and Puri districts for the next three hours. Light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning may occur in these districts during the period.
People have been advised to keep a watch on weather conditions and move to safe places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
