Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm coupled with lightning, rain and gusty winds is likely to hit at least six districts of Odisha on Wednesday afternoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
In a message issued at 3 pm, the IMD also sounded a yellow warning for Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada districts .
Thunderstorm with lightning, light to moderate rain with wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur in these districts during next three hours, it said.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strike.
