Bhubaneswar: Moderate rain with thunderstorm may continue in Odisha capital for the next 2 to 3 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Friday afternoon.

Odisha is experiencing an intense spell of rains due to an active low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to become more marked during the next 2 days. Heavy to extremely heavy downpours accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds may occur across multiple districts in the state until July 7. Red warning has been issued for Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Sambalpur, Sonpur, Anugola, Boudh, Kandhamala and Malkangiri districts on June 3-4, and orange warning for Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Baragada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kendujhar, Kataka, Dhenkanal, Nayagada, Sundargada, Mayurbhanj, and Kendujhar from June 3-7.
