Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning in some parts of 16 districts of Odisha till 4.30 pm on Wednesday.
The weather condition will prevail in Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Boudh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Kandhamal, Bargarh, Angul and Dhenkanal in the next three hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
The remnant of the Cyclonic Storm Gulab lay as a well-marked low pressure area over south Gujarat region and adjoining Gulf of Khambhat. It is likely to intensify into a depression by September 30 morning.
Cyclone Gulab had made landfall in Andhra Pradesh on September 26 and also impacted Odisha.
