Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for 11 districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 3 pm on Sunday.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower along with lightning and wind speed reaching 40 kmph may occur at one or two places in the districts of Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Angul, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Kendrapada.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Meanwhile, the low-pressure area over north Andhra Pradesh & adjoining South Odisha has moved over North Telangana & adjoining Vidarbha. It is likely to move westnorthwestwards across Telangana & Vidarbha during the next 2 days, according to the morning bulletin.
Under its influence, Odisha is likely to experience light to moderate rain/thunderstorm at most/many places with isolated heavy rainfall on September 14-15.
