Bhubaneswar: Many parts of Odisha are likely to be lashed by rain, thunderstorm and lightning for the next one week, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday.
Some parts of the state are also likely to experience heavy rain and gusty surface wind, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said.
In its midday bulletin, the weather agency said that light to moderate rain is likely to occur in places of the state during the next 24 hours.
Issuing yellow warning, it said thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph may occur in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, and Kandhamal districts.
Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in one or two places of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, and Kendrapada districts during the period.

Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in one or two places of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Keonjhar districts. Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, and Kandhamal.
