Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued nowcast warning for seven districts of Odisha, including Cuttack city, till 2.40 pm on Monday.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning may occur at some parts of Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Kandhamal in 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Notably, the weather agency has predicted very heavy rainfall in Odisha on August 26 and heavy rainfall on August 26-28-29 under the influence of a low-pressure area over south Bangladesh & neighbourhood, which is likely to become more marked and move west-northwestwards across Gangetic West Bengal, North Odisha and Jharkhand during the next 2 days.
