Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department has warned of light to moderate rain and thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind of 30 to 40 km per hour in 12 Odisha districts in the next three hours.
The districts are Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Balasore, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi.
In its mid-day bulletin the IMD issued yellow warning for several Odisha districts till 8.30 am of May 8.
The weather details are as follows:
Till 8.30 am of May 6: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri and Dhenkanal.
Similar weather is likely to prevails in Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput districts.
Between 8.30 am of May 6 and May 7
Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to surface wind reaching 30-40 kmph very likely over the districts
of Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khurda and Kandhamal.
Warning has also been issued for Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,
Sundargarh, Deogarh, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Boudh.
Between 8.30 am of May 7 and May 8
Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal.
The capital city of Bhubaneswar is likely to experience rain/thundershower likely to occur during the evening. The maximum and minimum temperature likely to be around 36 degree Celsius and 25 degree Celsius respectively.
