Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning for Khurda, including Bhubaneswar, till 7 pm on Saturday.
Thunderstorm/lightning with gusty wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and light to moderate rain likely in the district in the next three hours. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places protect themselves from lightning strikes.
The MeT office had earlier issued yellow warning for thunderstorm/lightning with gusty wind speed reaching 40- 50 kmph and light to moderate rain for some parts of Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Khurda and Jagatsinghpur districts till 6.45 pm and orange alert for thunderstorm/lightning with gusty wind speed reaching 50- 60 kmph and light to moderate rain at some parts in Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Gajapati and Ganjam districts till 6.30 pm.
