Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued nowcast warning for several western and southern districts of Odisha till 6.30 pm on Wednesday.
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely in Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Koraput, Puri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj and Rayagada in 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
