Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning of light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning for six districts of Odisha, including the state capital Bhubaneswar, till 7.10 pm.
The districts that are likely to be affected are Khurda, Puri, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Gajapati. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Notably, the weather agency has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower may occur at a few places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Gajapati and Ganjam districts and at one or two places in remaining parts of the state till 8.30 am on Monday. It has warned of thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak.
