Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning for 15 districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 6.15 pm on Tuesday.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning is likely in some parts of Boudh, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Nayagarh, Dhenkanal, Angul, Gajapati, Bargarh, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Khurda and Ganjam in three hours. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.

The weather agency has also issued orange warning of heavy to very heavy Rainfall (7 to 20cm) for isolated places in Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur districts till 8.30 am on Wednesday. Heavy rain may also lash isolated places in Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Balangir, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur.
The heavy rainfall warning continues till September 8.
