Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning is likely in 18 districts of Odisha, including the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 4.45 pm on Tuesday.
According to the India Meteorological Department, such weather conditions may prevail in some parts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati and Koraput during the next 3 hours. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Meanwhile, a low pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal off West Bengal-Odisha coasts and it is likely to trigger very heavy rainfall in Odisha till September 21.
