Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued nowcast warning of light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning for Cuttack district, including Cuttack city, in Odisha till 6.20 pm on Tuesday.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Similar warning was also issued for some places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Boudh, Kandhamal, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak and Balasore till 5.15 pm.
According to the MeT office, weak monsoon conditions will continue to prevail in Odisha for 3 days during which there will be no significant rainfall activities. It has forecast heavy rain on September 2. Yellow warning for thunderstorm has also been issued for 3 days from August 31.
