Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning of light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning at some places in 25 districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 6.25 pm on Monday.
The districts that are likely to be affected are Nabarangpur, Boudh, Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Ganjam, Balangir, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Balasore, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Kendrapada, Khurda, Cuttack, Bhadark, Gajapati, Rayagada, Angul and Dhenkanal.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Notably, the IMD has issued yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning for one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Balangir till 8.30 am on Tuesday. It has also forecast light to moderate rain/thundershower at many places in Interior Odisha and at a few places in coastal districts of the state.
