Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning for 13 districts of Odisha, including Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, till 5.40 pm on Tuesday.
Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning, gusty wind speed reaching 30- 40 kmph and light to moderate rain is likely in Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Sonepur, Balangir and Boudh during the next 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
While some places in coastal and south Odisha are likely to experience light to moderate rain till April 9 morning, the MeT office has forecast a rise in the day temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius during the next two days.
Yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning has been issued for some places in Koraput ,Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Cuttack and Jajpur on April 7.
