Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain or thundershower in the next 24 hours is likely to bring some relief from the heat.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted rain and thunderstorm for the eight districts of Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.
However, no Yellow Warning has been issued for any district in the State.
At present, the cyclonic circulation over Southeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Vidarbha lies over Southeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level, stated the release.
Meanwhile, the highest temperature of 39 degree Celsius was recorded at Malkangiri while Bhubaneswar was equally sultry at 38.9 Celsius on the day.
