Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning of rain and thunderstorm for 12 districts of Odisha by 2 pm on Saturday. Warning has also been issued for state capital Bhubaneswar and the millennium city of Cuttack.
Issuing yellow alert, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightening is likely to affect some parts of the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal and Cuttack within next two hours.
People have been advised by the MeT Centre to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike
