Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued nowcast warning for 12 districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 4.30 pm on Friday.
Light Thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain may affect some parts of Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kendrapada, Puri, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal and Dhenkanal in 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
The warning has come amid forecast about formation of a cyclonic circulation very likely to form over North Andaman Sea around October 20 and a low-pressure area over Central Bay of Bengal around October 22.
