Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange war
ning for six districts of Odisha till 4.25 pm on Tuesday.
Moderate rain, thunderstorm and lightning along with wind speed 30-40 kmph may affect a few places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj in 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
According to the midday bulletin, thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and heavy rain may occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Rayagada, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack and Gajapati districts on Tuesday.
Thunderstorm/lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is also likely at one or two places in Koraput, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh and Ganjam.
