Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for eight districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubanesw
ar and Kataka, till 4 pm on Monday.
Thunderstorm, lightning and light to moderate rain with wind speed reaching 40 kmph may occur at one or two places in the district of Nayagada, Anugola, Kendujhar, Ganjam, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar), Kataka (including Kataka city), Jajpur and Dhenkanal within next three hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions.
According to IMD’s morning bulletin, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely in Odisha from June 29-July 4. The state may also experience isolated thunderstorms, lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) during this period.
Isolated heavy rainfall is likely in Odisha on June 29 and the intensity of the spell may increase on June 30 and July 1.
