Bhubaneswar: Odisha will continue to witness moderate to widespread rainfall for the next two days.
“Rainfall with isolated thunderstorm and gusty wind (speed reaching 3–40 kmph) is expected at several parts of the state today. Daringbadi in Kandhamal district is likely to receive the highest rainfall followed by Cuttack and Bhubaneswar,” said Duty Officer, Bhubaneswar MeT, DC Behera.
He attributed the rainfall activity to a confluence between westerly winds associated with the western disturbance and moist low level easterly wind from Bay of Bengal.
Rain is also likely to lash Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh and Keonjhar districts on Friday (March 7)
Similarly, several places in southern Odisha including Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati and Kandhamal are likely to experience rain on Saturday (March 8).
The weather is expected to change from March 9, the weatherman added.
