Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital along with 10 districts of the state will continue to experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm till 1 pm, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Monday.
This weather condition will prevail in some parts of Puri, Khurda 9including Bhubaneswar), Balasore, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kendrapada, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Mayurbhanj districts. People have been advised to move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
The IMD had earlier sounded yellow alert for heavy rainfall at one or two places in Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri during the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain is also likely to occur at many places in the state, it added.
