Rain To Continue In Coastal, South & North Odisha; Dense Fog Alert For 3 More Days

Bhubaneswar: Rainfall activity will continue in Odisha till January 25 under the influence of easterlies from South Interior Karnataka to east Vidarbha and anti-cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Monday.

Light to moderate rain\thundershower is likely at a few places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Sonepur, Boudh and at one or two places in South Odisha districts, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, and Bargarh till 8.30 am on January 23. Similar weather conditions will prevails at a few places in South Odisha, North Coastal Odisha and at one or two places in remaining parts of the state during the subsequent 24 hours. On January 24, light to moderate rain\thundershower is likely at a few places in North Odisha, South Coastal Odisha and at one or two places in South Interior Odisha. Light rain\thundershower is likely to continue in Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Khurda, and Nayagarh on January 25.

Dry weather will prevail across the state thereafter with no large change in the night temperature during the next 4-5 days, the weather agency said.

As the anti-cyclonic circulation is continuously supplying moisture, some parts of the state are expected to witness dense fog conditions till January 24.

Till 8.30 am on Jan 23: Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sambalpur.

From 8.30 am on Jan 23 till 8.30 am on Jan 24: Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur.

From 8.30 am on Jan 24 till 8.30 am on Jan 25: Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri.
