Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday foracast light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning in some parts of 12 districts of Odisha till 8.30 pm.
Besides twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, this weather condition will prevail in Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Rayagada and Malkangiri during the next 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Earlier in the day, the MeT office had predicted heavy rain at one or two places in Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Ganjam, Boudh, Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak and Jajpur till 8.30 am on Friday.
