Bhubaneswar: The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are likely to experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm till 7 pm on Sunday.
The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that this weather condition will prevail in some parts of Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Boudh, Khurda, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Gajapati and Ganjam during the next 3 hours. People have been advised to move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
The MeT office has also forecast heavy rainfall for one or two places in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Boudh, Kandhamal, and Sonepur till Monday morning.
Light to moderate rain is also likely to occur at most places in North Odisha and at many places in South Odisha during this period.
Yellow warning continues for subsequent 24 hours with heavy rainfall prediction for one or two places in Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri districts.
While no warning has been issued for the next three days, Odisha is likely to experience light to moderate rain till July 29 morning, the IMD added.
