Rain To Lash Odisha’s Twin Cities Bhubaneswar & Cuttack This Afternoon

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Monday issued nowcast warning for Cuttack and Khurda districts, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 4.45 pm.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning is likely in some parts of Khurda (including Bhubaneswar) and Cuttack (including Cuttack city) within next 3 hours. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes, it added.

Notably, Odisha has been experiencing heavy rainfall for the last few days under the influence of a low pressure over the Bay of Bengal, which brought the rainfall deficit down to 24 per cent. The state received 164.0mm against its normal value of 216.5mm between June 1 and July 1.
